Chaque année, les prix WISE récompensent des initiatives novatrices et percutantes répondant aux défis les plus urgents en matière d'éducation. Les projets précédents des WISE Awards ont abordé diverses questions relatives à l'éducation, notamment l'accès et l'inclusion, la conception et les écosystèmes, le numérique et le multimédia, la société et la main-d'œuvre, l'emploi des jeunes, etc.

Les soumissions sont jugées selon des critères stricts. Ils doivent faire preuve d'innovation, avoir un plan de développement clair, être financièrement stables, évolutifs et reproductibles. Ils doivent également démontrer un impact transformateur sur les individus, les communautés et la société.
